Woodshed Products... from the woodshed of Martin Thompson-Oram

An established (1976) Wood Turner and Cabinetmaker, registered with the UK Crafts Council as an Artist/Maker since 1989, and based in Yorkshire, England.  With experience in Art Turning, Restoration and Production Turning, Furniture Design, Furniture Making, Antique Restoration and Carving, he can offer a wide range of expertise; - Including process development, and if necessary, development of job specific tooling.

Invented his Ornamental Turning Device in 1991.  (Its Patents were granted in 1995/6 in the UK and USA.)

In 1997 he was accepted onto the Register of Professional Turners.  (The Register being the only professional body for Wood Turners that at that time assessed prospective members work for quality of design and manufacture.)

The son of Professional parents, both trained at the Royal College of Art (London), his own training has been traditional, rather than formal, having been trained by his parents in Art and Cabinet Making.
(His Father was Silver Medalist (1st) in the City and Guilds All England Cabinet making  examination; finally heading the Interior Design Department at Leeds Polytechnic.)

Now with over thirty years experience of his own in designing and making,  he is well equipped to assist you with your project from Concept, through design and prototyping, and on to completion.

With manual or semi manual manufacturing processes, an emphasis on Craftsmanship, and no minimum order size for small batches, Woodshed Products can offer a real cost effective alternative to CNC processes for one-offs or small multiples of components, especially useful for Restoration work.

you can even have your project Designed and Drawn for you…
