oAfter the frame was assembled came the next eye-straining part: - painting and 'gilding'.
with the overall weather and UVproof finish put on before finally gilding the
letters... then covering the message pad in fabric, and putting the
laminated glass in...
checking that everything worked...
and it was ready for
erecting.
